Be Still in Prayer

You know, I believe that one of the most crucial aspects of prayer is what the Lord commands us in Psalm 46 when he says, be still and know that I am God. I don't know about you, but it's really hard for me to be still. I can make my body be still, but my mind is still moving a thousand miles an hour, but that's not what God desires. God commands us that we're to look at him, that we're to be in awe of him, that we're to know that where we end, he begins, that he is the most powerful force in all the world, in our life, in the events that surround us, and that he loves us and that he will sustain us. And when we look at who he is and our soul is still, at that point, we receive a blessing of grace and peace and rest. And I believe that that is the temperature that our prayer life is meant to be.
