Women of Warren Vlog – Live Like We Worship

happy Monday morning I hope your week is off to a really great start I want us to ask this question of our hearts today do we live the way that we worship there's a beautiful passage in Isaiah chapter 26 that is just a song filled with worship to the Lord. And it makes me think about Sunday mornings when we're together in worship with one another. What a powerful time that is. It's one of my favorite parts of the week. But I so often hear the Holy Spirit saying, okay, Jenna, you have your hands lifted to me right now, and you are saying to me that I am worthy of it all. You are saying, who is like the Lord? But do you truly mean that? Is that truly the way that you're going to live this upcoming week? Are you truly going to live the way that you worship? I thought we would read through a couple of the verses in Isaiah 26 today and let this passage show us some application in how we can live worshipfully. We're going to look at verses eight, the first part of verse nine, and then verses 12 and 13. So starting in verse eight of Isaiah 26, yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you. Your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. My soul yearns for you in the night. In the morning, my spirit longs for you. Lord, you establish peace for us. All that we have accomplished, you have done for us. O Lord, our God, other lords besides you have ruled over us, but your name alone do we honor. Looking at the truths and the applications in this passage in Isaiah, I think in verse 8 where it says, yes, Lord, walking in the way of your laws, we wait for you. It can teach us how to live worshiply this upcoming week. Asking the question, am I walking in the ways of the Lord? Am I walking in accordance with his laws? Do I know what his laws are? And then am I waiting on the Lord? Am I waiting on his timing and his will and his way, or am I pushing my own agenda? Do I have my own ideas and I'm bringing them to the Lord, offering him my strong suggestions of how I think things should go? Do I have a posture where I'm walking in the way of the Lord's laws and where I am waiting on him? The last part of verse eight says, your name and renown are the desire of our hearts. Is that really true? Is that really what my heart is longing for? Is the Lord's name and his renown? Often I can be after my own renown, making my own name great. so inviting the lord to expose that to me am i truly after his glory or am i glory snatching verse 9 my soul yearns for you in the night in the morning my spirit longs for you i i often can't say that that's true of my heart and and the thing is i want it to be i really want to say yes my soul does yearn for the Lord and my spirit does long for the Lord but I am I am not capable of manufacturing that in my heart I can't do it that is a work of the Holy Spirit and my job is to remain in a posture where I am that wet moldable clay and I invite him to cultivate in me a spirit that longs and a soul that yearns for him. Verses 12 and 13 say, Lord, you establish peace for us. All that we have accomplished, you have done for us. Oh Lord, our God, other lords beside you have ruled over us, but your name alone do we honor. I know the truth of John 15, verse 5 that apart from the Lord, I can do nothing. But is that truly the way I live? Do I truly live as if I believe in the core of my being that that is true, that apart from the Lord, I can do absolutely nothing, that all I could ever accomplish is the Lord doing the work? The end of verse 13 says, your name alone do we honor. Is that true? Is his name what I am out to glorify? Or do I want to glorify my name a little bit? Or am I out also to seek the honor and praise of others? Am I valuing other audiences other than just my audience of one. I hope these passages or these verses in Isaiah help give us some practical things to think and pray through this week of how to live worshiply. That we live worshipfully when we walk in the way of the Lord's laws, When we wait on him, when his name and his renown are the desire of our hearts, when our soul yearns and our spirit longs for him, when we acknowledge that we can do nothing apart from him, and when his name alone is what we are out to honor. So our challenge this week is to worship. Worship the Lord in the way that we live and invite him to show us where there is a disconnect between the way that we worship, the things that we proclaim and we sing loud on a Sunday morning, and the way that we actually live the other days of the week.
