Ministry Residency

Our goal is to walk with men and women who are exploring a call to ministry. A person who goes through our program will learn how to lead themselves and to lead others. We are committed to discipling young leaders and fostering their growth in knowledge, character, vision, and skills.

OVERVIEW

About Our Ministry Residency

Every resident is immersed in ministry opportunities that align with their personal passion. This is a 12 month, 29 hour-per-week program which combines focused training, hands-on experience, and intentional mentorship to help participants grow in their leadership ability and clarify their calling. It is our desire to see competent and compassionate leaders be developed for the sake of carrying out God's mission.

Our residents will attend monthly training sessions that will cover several meaningful and practical ministry and spiritual growth topics.

Heart

The development of a ministry leader does not stop at the practical experiences of ministry. Character is one of the most important pieces.

Hands

Residents will be placed in live ministry settings to take all the Head and Heart knowledge and put it into daily practice.

Our residency program is designed for young adults who are exploring God’s call to ministry. Over the years, we’ve welcomed recent high school and college graduates, seminary students, and young professionals. The ideal resident is someone who is growing in maturity, sensing God’s direction, showing evidence of ministry gifts, eager to serve, and ready to commit to a one-year journey of learning and growth.

Ministry Residency is a 12-month period from August-July.

Each Ministry Resident is partnered with a Ministry Lead and a Ministry Mentor. Ministry Leads will be your direct supervisor who will help guide and daily lead you in your area of ministry. Ministry Mentors will meet with you periodically throughout each month to guide and encourage you in areas such as character, service, love, and spiritual growth.

Warren is a multi-site church with campuses in Augusta and Grovetown, GA and Belvedere, SC. You will be serving primarily at one campus [Warren Augusta, Warren Belvedere, Warren Crossbridge, or Warren Grovetown] but will have frequent opportunity to interact and serve at all campuses.

Our Residency spans over a broad range of ministry areas including Next Generation (Kids, Middle School, High School, College), Family, Worship and Communications, Adult Discipleship, and Connections. Our goal is that you would be placed into the ministry that aligns with your passions and giftings.

A few examples of study materials have been "Live No Lies" by John Mark Comer, "Red Sea Rules" by Robert Morgan, "Deep Discipleship" by J.T. English, and "The Conviction to Lead" by Al Mohler. Each month, residents study one of the "Principles of Ministry," which is a study guide adapted from "Making Sense of the Ministry" by Warren and David Wiersbe.

Warren Ministry Residents will receive all books and resources needed for our monthly leadership training times as well as curriculum used with their ministry mentor. Residents are also considered temporary part-time employees of Warren in which a salary will be given based on previous experience and education.

"Warren's Ministry Resident program has been one of the most fulfilling years of my life. As residents, we are drawn into a deeper relationship with the Lord and the Church, which helps to define/refine the calling placed on our lives. Warren's unique combination of advisors, academics, and activities have prepared me to take the next obedient step in ministry boldly and confidently."

Abigail Mongillo

"I used to walk through the Warren parking lot, gaze up at the steeple, and hope in my heart that someday I could work at a church with strong biblical stances; one that stands firm on the word of God. I still look up at the steeple and thank God for his answer to that prayer so many years ago. What a joy to work at Warren- a church full of believers whose foundation is the word of God. I could not be more grateful to God for this opportunity. The residency program has allowed me the opportunity to learn, grow, make small mistakes, and be taught how to fix them and grow from them. I have learned how to let go of fears and be able to walk into the next chapter of life, wherever God places me, with more confidence, excitement, and gratitude."

Helen Whitacre

"The Residency Program has been an incredibly transformative experience for me - from the boots-on-ground ministry experience to the personal mentorship to sitting under the teaching of ministry leaders who have walked the road before me. Through challenges and victories, the residency has made room for me to grow in every area of life - confidence, being a team-player, resting in the Lord, and so much more. I am incredibly grateful for the wisdom of those who have taken the time to invest in me as a resident, as a believer, and as a person."

Abby White

“This program has deeply challenged me, both spiritually and professionally. I am deeply grateful for the unwavering support from my ministry leads and mentor. Their guidance strengthened my faith, encouraged my growth, and pushed me to work with diligence and purpose. I’m thankful the Lord provided this opportunity to learn what it truly means to be His hands and feet. If you feel called to ministry, I wholeheartedly encourage you to join this program. It’s an incredible opportunity to grow and be equipped for the work God is calling you to.”

Trey Wimmer

Having completed the Ministry Residency myself, I know firsthand how transformative this experience can be. I’m grateful to now lead this program knowing it shaped my calling, deepened my faith, and equipped me for ministry in ways I hadn’t planned. My prayer is that others experience that same growth - developing as Christ-centered leaders while gaining real-life ministry experience through intentional discipleship and mentorship.
