“I need prayer”

“Not a bad prayer, but it's very vague. I think it takes great risk in faith to begin praying prayers that are very specific prayers and are God-sized prayers. And one of the things Trey keeps telling us is, why don't we pray prayers that only God could answer in his power and authority in order that when he does, it's undeniable it's his hand of power and grace, And then we'll give him credit and give him glory anyways.”

“All that God is and all that God does is at the disposal of prayer, but we must use the key. Prayer can do anything God can do, and as God can do anything, prayer is omnipotent. God takes great joy in giving us the answer we really need, which is his presence. So not only does he answer our prayers, the answer to our prayers every single time is”

So lean in with me today. Five points under point number two, but five things I want you to see about the priority of prayer. Number one, or the pattern of prayer. There was this kind of rhythmic fashion to their ministry. You see him the night before he's going to be betrayed, he goes into the garden to pray a prayer to his father. Over and over and over again, prayer was a priority for Jesus. I was reading this week a quote by Martin Luther, who if you know anything about Martin Luther, he had a habit in his life that every single morning”

Corey Ten Boom asked this question as I was reading some commentary this week that I thought was so challenging to kind of really analyze my own life and walk with the Lord, Corrie Ten Boom said this, is prayer your steering wheel or your spare tire? Ooh, yeah, right? So many of us, I think, struggle with prayer because we view it as transactional.”

Prayer is not about just consumption of something. It's about communion with someone. I think so often we can turn into our prayers are just little supplications”
