“I need prayer”

“What do we see from this text? We see Jesus go to his father in prayer and go to his father in prayer and again go to his father in prayer. We see Jesus show sweat equity in prayer, persistence in prayer. We live in a culture that I mean we just have so many wonderful conveniences, don't we? I mean like Amazon buy now. Thank you. “well good evening everyone thank you so much for taking a little time out of your week to be here for our evening of prayer it's our prayer that this impacts you that this ignites you if you will to more prayer to a greater depth of prayer it's really our heart that you'll walk away from this evening not just having attended something but having been shaped and changed by prayer and so it seems”

He surrendered his will. He did not allow temptation to derail his obedience. And he didn't allow his intense emotions to overwhelm his path to the cross. So, we see that persistent prayer impacted the turn of the page and what was”

“persist in prayer today. But we don't ever know that, do we? I've heard it said that it's so important to press into the Lord on the mountaintop because you never know when the valley is coming. You never know when your Gethsemane, your point of pressing and pressing and pressing is coming. And [clears throat] so, cultivating that habit of persistent prayer is so important.”

“But through persistent prayer, we can stay the course through the grace of the Lord when our flesh wants to go our own way. Because as we persist in prayer, and we see this through Jesus's example, [clears throat] we surrender through alignment. We surrender through alignment. Jesus's example teaches us that”

“one of our um staff meetings not too long ago, we had Dr. Peter Law come in. He trains church leaders in Nepal. And I just love this and I thought it was just a beautiful way to end. He said, "The king of England will never invite you to commune with him, but the king of all kings does." >> Yeah. Do we though? Do we do we persist in prayer? All right, let's close in prayer.”

“I love that we see in this passage because we can just get so caught in this. The point of prayer is not to get answers because Jesus went three times to the father asking the same thing and he already knew the answer. He already knew what the answer would be. So if the point of prayer was to get answers, there would have been no need for Jesus to come to the father three times asking the same question.”

“Lord, we um are just so thankful for your graciousness to us, Lord. We're so thankful for the example we have of your son who faithfully persisted in prayer as he faced the cross. Lord, may we learn to persist in prayer, trusting, Lord, that whatever is coming around the corner, you're already there and you”

“with perseverance. So that we can identify temptation. So that we can identify the lies from the enemy. I love that we see in this um in Jesus's prayer that he starts with my father. We learned about that last week in the Lord's prayer. Starting with my father. So if I'm coming to the Lord and I'm declaring you are my father, that also”

“can properly commune with him in this way. He actually talks about he g he gave us several ways that we can commune with him in various parts of our life and giving and fasting. But this morning, we're going to focus on prayer. In this scripture, Jesus teaches us that prayer is a private and personal time of communion with our father. It is to be an honest and intimate”
