“What I want you to see is Nicodemus isn't coming haughtily. Nicodemus isn't coming as a know-it-all. He's not coming like the other Pharisees to test Jesus. He's coming humble. He's coming wanting truly, desiring to know the things of God. And so this uneducated teacher from Nazareth, he refers to him as rabbi. He says, Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God. For no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”
