Family

“The family is the master design of God's plan for our good. The family, which is taken and highlighted here, one of the families, your family, my family, of whom all the families of earth are named, but ultimately because we are a part of God's family, this is a part of God's plan for our good. And therefore, family is vital to God's purpose for humanity and God's picture of the gospel.”

“We've said that we are each in three families. We are a part of our own family. We are a part of the human family, the global family. And also, if we are believers, we are part of God's family, the church. And we've been talking about how the relational commands of God function and really hammer out in each one of those spheres.”

“would call our differences the reality is we are a part of one group called The Human family and then every person here is a part of well your family now you may be a single adult you may be a divorcee you may be a widow or widower I don't know what your current residential status is our relational status is in that sense but I can tell you that every single person got here because you are a part of some family your family the people the that made up the care the”

“And then we have a husband, and here we have a wife, and then we have children. But the children are secured within the stability of the relationship where there's a husband who is seeking Christ and a wife who is seeking Christ. And as they are growing together in Christ, there is strength and beauty and blessing in the life of the family. Not a perfect family. Not a family without struggle and problems, but a family that is strong and stable,”

“And so you may see me look at my notes a lot because I really want to be clear when I say these things. But what I want to do is give us perspective regarding the call of God in our family. First to the wife, then to the husband, then to the kids, and then to parents. So do not be offended. Here's a picture. Can I get a picture of my family? That's my family. I show this to you for a couple different reasons, but I want you to see my family.”
