Grace

“because of a deep sense of urgency. It means being frightened into crying out for help. It is a condition of the heart that is only as the result of grace. It's grace that causes you to acknowledge your sin. It's grace that causes you to be frightened by where that sin can lead you. It's grace that opens your heart to the help that only God can give. Real prayer is motivated by that grace and acknowledges your need for that grace.”

“but more than simply the objects of his love, God intervenes with his grace. Look again in Ephesians chapter 2, and we pick up our reading, but God, rich in mercy because of the love with which he loved us, even when we were dead, made us alive together with Christ. By grace, you have been saved. Grace. We've already said that's God's riches at Christ's expense. But grace is this.”

Father, would your spirit pour out in this place in such a very real and tangible way that it will be undeniable in this place today that people have met with you. Would you mold us? Would you convict us? Would you help us to not be control maniacs that just try to put our hands on every aspect of our lives and manipulate it for our comfort? Father, help us to live our lives in faith, being distributors of your goodness, your providence, and your grace.”

“when you come to know him because you're gonna live your life, the rest of your life here on earth and you're still gonna screw it up and you're gonna screw it up every single day. And you're gonna, in the palm of his hand and you're saved by grace and not by your work. And so you have the opportunity and the promise to cling to him, to come to him every single morning and put words and voice the things that you're not proud of in the places of your brokenness and the places that you messed up. And what it says is if you'll do that and you name those things before him and you bring those things before him,”
