Pentecost

“Pentecost and gospel proclamation, which are kind of big words. What is Pentecost? When people are like, oh, Pentecost. What are they talking about? Blue shirt. Landed. Yes. Exactly. They're talking about when the Holy Spirit came and came to live in man, came upon the disciples. Good job. That's the day of Pentecost. Gospel proclamation.”

“Pretty significant, right? We see that through the Gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. Then we move on to Pentecost and Gospel Proclamation. So Pentecost meaning what? “Pentecost was 50 days. It was a special feast on the Jewish calendar 50 days after the resurrection. There's a lot of significance and symbolism in the Pentecost feast and celebration. But what we know is that on the day of Pentecost, just as Jesus said when he ascended, the Holy Spirit descended upon the church. And while they were gathered and while they were praying, there was a movement of the Holy Spirit that ignited, that gave birth, that gave a new step.”

“is probably where most people when you say pentecost this is where you turn you know what pentecost is right and so i never actually even knew that feast of weeks and pentecost were actually the same thing and so to be honest i didn't really even know what feast of weeks was so right now and so but now we know um and so verses uh one through four this is acts chapter 2 and i know we read it before but i want you to think about it in light of what we just talked about with um mount sinai so we have these this imagery there so”

“But Titus is written to a man named Titus from a guy named Paul. The apostle Paul who wrote most of the books of the New Testament is writing to Titus. So Titus is on this island in the Mediterranean Sea called Crete. The gospel first got to Crete at the day of Pentecost. So the day of Pentecost, there were people from Crete who traveled to the city of Jerusalem”

“I don't even really like to call him a force because he's a person, but he is the animating power from above. It's why in Acts 1.8, Jesus's last words to his disciples and apostles were, and you will receive power, that same power, that dynamis, that word. When the Holy Spirit has come upon you, he's talking about Pentecost, and you will be my witnesses in this kind of movement of Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, and ultimately to the ends of the earth. And what happens at Pentecost is the power of God by the Spirit of God is unleashed on the people of God. And it starts”

He comes to Abram, who he's going to call Abraham in Genesis chapter 12. And he tells him, hey, I'm going to form a nation. Your generations and”
