“John 8:12”

“chapter 8 verse 12. John 8 and verse 12. Jesus spoke to them saying, I am the light of the world. whoever follows me will not walk in what? Darkness, but will have the light of life. Then drop down to verse 21, same chapter. I just can't read all of these verses. It's such a long text, but I want you to get the heart of this. And then he said to them again, I'm going away”

“which verses which of these kind of stuck out to you you know because going through all of these is really neat but then um you know so yeah going through them but but go ahead and i thought john 8 12 that you know the way that this is written one of my favorite chunks of scripture you're just going to get a side note here is um the the story that's above with the adulterous woman and so i think it's fascinating that this comes and so john 8 verse 11 this is after jesus asks her has anyone condemned you and she says no”

“physical field whose life and growth require water and sunshine, so do we. And in his kingdom, Jesus is the source of both. Jesus proclaims in John 8:12 that he is the light of the world. He is our sunshine. And in John 4:10, he declares he is the source of the living”

“will not come into the light for fear that their deeds will be exposed but whoever lives by the truth comes into the light so that it may be seen plainly that what they have done has been done in the sight of god and i think that there's such a humility there it made me think of the unleavened you know the unleavened bread we which we talked about you know the feast of unleavened bread and bringing things out into the light and getting rid of it and so it made me think of that and then i also liked john 8 12 and please go ahead and type in you know”

“morning as I woke up early, but that's just how it rolls sometimes. And so I'm going to stick somewhat close to my notes today, not because I'm not prepared, but because there's some things that I want to say and I want to say them with great clarity. And so it may be a little bit of a different message today, but I think that God has something very powerful, very intricate in his word for us today. And so John chapter eight, we're going to pick this story up in the reading in John chapter 8, verse 12 through 14, and then I'm going to jump down to 21 through 32. But I feel”

“It starts with the first one, the recognition of God's sovereignty among the nations. Recognition of God's sovereignty. In John 8, verse 12, we've read this already, but it says, I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. So think about this for a moment. What Jesus is saying here in this verse, before he talks about truth, before he talks about freedom, he says, I am the light of the world.”

“The greatest battles of our world today are ideological battles. We live in a world of humanism and secularism and syncretism a world that is filled with socialism and islamism and many other of the isms of the world but we are not just an ism we are here to become the light of christ that penetrates with truth and hope and righteousness because god has called us to be lights in this dark world jesus said in john 8 and verse 12 i am the light of the world”

“And we saw that true freedom can only be fully known in Christ and that our nation was founded on the ideals of liberty found in the pages of the Bible. This morning, week two of our series, we're going to look at what we're calling the pathway to freedom. It's laid out not by our founding fathers, but by Jesus himself.
